Freshwater Cisterns & Sewage Holding Tanks
AWS’s cisterns & sewage holding tanks are effective because of their round shape, This makes them a superior choice for many projects.
Manufactured with an open inside, and beveled edges to the floor, these tanks allow for easy cleaning and a sanitary environment for potable water. By using the recommended manufactures separate 4” air vents and filler kits, cisterns continually equalize pressure and keep new air in the cistern, ensuring fresh tasting water.
Designed especially for strength and water tightness, our cisterns have a tongue-and-groove joint filled with butyl rubber at mid tank. Bottom cold seams have been eliminated through our special upside-down pouring technique. Non-corroding 1 ¼”, double female brass fittings are also used to contribute to their durability.
***IMPORTANT*** PLEASE leave at least one (1’) of water in the tank in any cistern or sewage holding tank that will be unused for extended periods of time during cold winter weather or before move-in or summer clean out.
With water in the tank, the bottom is insulated from frost. This is especially important with large cisterns because
the bottom of an empty tank can freeze and transfer frost to the surrounding ground. The ground can then heave, making the base uneven. When the tank is filled, the tank shifts back and this can cause spider cracking, this damage would not be covered under AWS warranty.
8’ Diameter cisterns & sewage holding tanks
1500, 1800, 2000, 2300, 2600 and 2900 gal cistern
10’ Diameter cisterns & sewage holding tanks
2000, 2400, 3300, 3700 and 4100 gal cistern
11’ Diameter cistern & sewage holding tanks
5000, 7500 and 10,000 gal cistern
Cisterns & sewage holding tanks are constructed with high strength 40 MPA concrete, with MK sulfhate resistance product and steel reinforcement. They have a burial depth up to 10 ft (3m) and are CSA approved.
They can be designed for vehicle loading traffic (H20 loading)
Cisterns tanks can come with one 24” I.D. high density PVC cast in place manways. This ensures no infiltration of ground water into the cistern.
Sewage holding tanks come with manways placed to one side. This allows the vacuum truck close access for cleaning.
